Protestant University Wuppertal

Welcome to Wuppertal

The Protestant University Wuppertal was founded in 1935 in the tradition of the Confessing Church and a few months after the Barmer Theological Declaration was published. To this day, the university continues to provide a platform for the brightest minds in the field of evangelical theology to unleash their potential in research and teaching. Discover our activities in the disciplines of Old Testament, New Testament, Church history, Systematic theology and Philosophy, Practical theology, as well as Religious studies and Intercultural theology. Currently around 200 students are enrolled in our undergraduate program "Pastorate / Magister theologiae", in our program "Master of Theological Studies" or in our PHD and habilitation program.
